When do children stop being children? Sometimes that is when they move out from their parents, sometimes — when they get married. Some people say that we carry our inner child for the rest of our lives. For some parents, their children forever remain their kids, even as they grow up in the blink of an eye :) We believe it’s very important to capture those fleeting moments when the family is still together, creating an image that can be revisited and reflected upon.
During our family shoots, our aim is to capture the essence of the moment, and the connections between individuals brought together into one family by fate. This is just a glimpse of their personal story, one page in their book. But you know, every child knows that a book with no pictures is a boring one :)
The Experience
Experience the magic of Family Sessions, offering outdoor sunset and sunrise options for families and couples. Additionally, you can opt for a session at your home or another location of your choice.
We enjoy these sessions because they are relaxed, easy-going, and filled with fun moments:). We will have enough time to switch backdrops within the same location, allowing for a variety of backgrounds. Want to try different outfits? No problems :). We can also stop for breaks, catering to your little one’s needs for a drink, snack, or a nappy change.
During the session, we will capture numerous stunning photos of your family. You will receive few previews in the next couple of days, and within two weeks, a watermarked selection gallery of approximately 60-100 images. Choose your favorites or opt for the full package to include all the captured moments.
Once you’ve made your selection, we will complete the final edits, addressing any specific requests, and provide you with a private password-protected gallery featuring both black and white and color options.
Each package includes a set number of fully edited high-resolution digital images, available in your private online gallery. You can also choose to upgrade your package after viewing the gallery. These sessions are designed for your immediate family and two grandparents (or other special individuals).

Can we ask for a family session at our place?
Absolutely! In-home sessions are truly magical! There’s something incredibly special about capturing your family in the comfort of your own cozy and unique space. So, yes, yes, yes!
If we do take photos at home - how clean does it need to be?
Imagine a friend or relative is dropping by—we suggest tidying up by clearing away any extra clutter, but there’s no need to go overboard with cleaning or perfection. We’re firm believers that the signs of everyday life—like toys, books, and other personal items—bring charm and authenticity to the photos. They add character and tell your family’s story in a way that’s genuine and relatable. So, don’t worry about making everything picture-perfect; let’s embrace the cozy, lived-in feel of your home for our session!
What if the weather forecast is bad and we have an outdoor photo session booked?
There’s always a chance of encountering a rainy forecast, regardless of whether you book your session in winter or summer! If rain is in the forecast, we’ll gladly reschedule your session. If the weather looks wet, we can either decide the night before or wait until the morning to make the call. We will stay in touch in the days leading up to the session to discuss our options and ensure we find the best solution for your comfort and convenience.
Do you bring props to family/newborn photo sessions?
At True Story Photo, we specialize in authentic and natural photography, minimising the use of unnatural posing and props (the only exceptions are special stylised shoots). Instead, we prioritize capturing genuine moments as they naturally occur. However, we’re delighted to include any cherished mementos, blankets, or toys that hold significance for you and your family. Your input is invaluable in crafting meaningful and heartfelt photographs that tell your unique story.
