Hi, I’m Misha Pochuev!
I’m the founder and sole photographer at True Story Photography, where I’m dedicated to capturing the beauty and emotion of life’s most important moments.

My journey with photography began over 20 years ago when I left Australia to pursue a career in photojournalism. While documenting historical events was deeply engaging, I eventually realised that focusing solely on the darker sides of life didn’t align with my values or personality.

Nine years ago, I made one of the best decisions of my life—I got married. However, there’s one thing I regret to this day: not hiring a professional photographer for my own wedding. I didn’t understand back then how crucial it is to have meaningful, high-quality photos of such a special day.

That realization reshaped my perspective on photography. While wedding photos may not make headlines in publications like Time or The Guardian, their value is timeless. These images become part of a family’s legacy, treasured for generations.

For me, wedding photography is more than a profession—it’s a way to create something enduring and profoundly personal. It’s an honor to know that my work will forever be part of someone’s history. I look forward to helping you tell your True Story.

With me, on the photo is my wife Veronica, who is my only partner, my inspiration and my personal yoga teacher :).
